Smart Choice Names New Chief Financial Officer

January 25, 2024

Smart Choice®, the fastest growing insurance network in the nation, announces the promotion of Thomas Andrews to chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately. Formerly vice president of finance for the company, Andrews steps into his new role following the retirement of former CFO, Steve Bostian – a 28-year veteran of Smart Choice. “I am privileged and grateful to assume this new position at Smart Choice, and I am excited to continue growing along with such an exceptional organization,” Andrews said.

“Thomas has proven himself an extremely capable and tremendous asset to our team. I’m confident he will serve in his new role distinctively and be a leader for Smart Choice for many years to come,” said Joe Fisher, chief operating officer for Smart Choice.

Bostian was named Chief Financial Officer of Smart Choice® in March 1996. He also served as president from 2008 to 2014, executive vice president, chief operating officer and treasurer of Smart Choice during his nearly 30-year tenure. He will continue serving the company in a key advisory and consulting role.

“Steve was an integral part of Smart Choice’s founding and has been here since the very beginning in 1996. He provided critical guidance and structure while helping to build the company from the ground up. He has been a crucial pillar supporting and driving the growth of this program, and I know we wouldn’t be where we are today without him,” said Andrew Caldwell, Smart Choice president. “Steve has worked diligently to move us forward and keep us true to our original mission, and I’m confident his mentorship will continue to be a huge asset to Smart Choice.”

In addition, Jim Miles, former general counsel and executive vice president for Smart Choice for 15 years, will be working with Smart Choice in a consulting and legal advisory position. Miles also served as outside counsel to Smart Choice for eight years prior to joining the company in 2008.
