Veterans Day Tribute: Home of the Free, Because of the Brave

November 10, 2015

November 11th, is a patriotic and spirit-filled day set aside each year to honor ALL of those who have served in the military through times of trial and tribulation as well as during times of peace. Where many confuse this holiday with Memorial Day, Veterans Day is meant to truly acknowledge those who have not only died to protect our freedoms, but to honor and thank the heroes who are still living today. These heroes may be a part of your family, they may be a neighbor, they may be friend, or they may be a complete stranger.

Regardless if they were in the Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, or Coast Guard, they have sacrificed time with family and friends, have missed birthday and holidays, and have put their lives on the line in order to fight against the various evils this world is witnessing every day.

Behind each of the terrifying events making headlines on the evening news and in the newspaper, there are hundreds of thousands of strangers fighting to keep us safe and to make these headlines just something of the past.

So, how can you show your appreciation? It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant. Fly your American flag high, shake a Veteran’s hand, and say thank you.

John F. Kennedy once said that “Valor is stability, not of legs and arms, but of courage and the soul.”  On this Veterans Day, Smart Choice® would like to thank and honor ALL who have displayed true valor as it takes great courage and a strong spirit to do so. Thank you to all who served this country and those who are still serving in order to protect the freedoms many tend to take for granted on a daily basis.
