State Director

Krista Gonzalez serves as State Director for Smart Choice®, bringing extensive experience in agency development, leadership, and relationship management. Since joining Smart Choice in 2018, she has served as a Territory Manager in West Texas and North Carolina and as Director of Agency Development, leading a team that supported agency partners across 27 states.

In her role, Krista focuses on strengthening agency and carrier relationships, expanding market opportunities, and helping independent agents achieve sustainable growth.  Her leadership approach focuses on a strong commitment to building trusted partnerships and delivering results.

A Charlotte native and graduate of Marietta College, Krista was also recognized as Smart Choice’s 2023 Rising Star Territory Manager of the Year, reflecting her leadership, dedication, and impact within the organization.
