The Smart Choice® Story
In 1988 Doug Witcher found himself with a difficult decision to make — either sell his agency or merge his agency with another. Unfortunately, the decision was not by choice, but by necessity. A “Blue Chip” carrier was pulling out of his agency because it did not meet mandated growth objectives.
At that moment, Doug made a commitment to him — if he was ever in the position to help others in similar situations, he would do so. In 1994, Doug and a handful of agents launched Smart Choice.
