"I am really looking forward to helping drive the company's Commercial initiatives forward.”

Smart Choice® announces the appointment of Mark Brandt as Assistant Vice President of their Commercial Lines Division. In his role, Brandt will help drive the company’s Commercial division’s strategy by facilitating carrier relationships regionally and nationally.

Brandt’s nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, across a broad spectrum of products in Property & Casualty and Life, will bring a wealth of valuable knowledge to Smart Choice’s rapidly growing Commercial division. Prior to this transition he served as Vice President and Senior Business Development Manager at Victor US. Brandt also spent five years as National Accounts Manager at Dovetail Insurance, and 11 years at Grange Insurance, managing the Smart Choice partnership at both.

“We really wanted to bring in someone who could help us continue to develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships with our carrier partners, and Mark’s experience and insights will be a valuable addition to our team,” said Oliver Travieso, Vice President Commercial Lines. “His career has spanned every facet of the carrier side of the insurance industry, with experience in claims, sales, and account management, and I’m excited to have him help execute our Commercial strategy here at Smart Choice.”

Brandt added, “I’m really honored to join the Smart Choice team. In previous carrier roles, I was responsible for managing the Smart Choice partnership, so I have already built a foundational relationship with the leadership group, as well as many of the company's State Directors and Territory Managers. Over the years, I have witnessed Smart Choice's remarkable growth and successful transition from a Personal Lines-centric agency network into a full-service network company, offering a complete portfolio of Commercial and Specialty Products. I am really looking forward to helping drive the company's Commercial initiatives forward.”
